
FULL AND HALF DAY TRIP TO PALANGA
Duration: 4,5-6 hour
Palanga is a beautiful resort town at the Baltic Sea, 25 kilometers away from Klaipėda.
During the trip visitors get acquainted with the history of the resort. They take a walk about the town and may go as far as the bridge to the sea and take a walk along the beach which is covered with wonderful white sand.
The visitors return to the bus and drive to the Amber Museum. The Amber Museum is arranged in a marvelous palace which belonged to the earl Tishkevichus in the past. The palace was built in botanical gardens. These gardens are the richest and the most beautiful gardens in Lithuania. The park was founded in 1897-1907. The author of this project was a French gardener Andre. The visitors walk along this park as far as the museum of Amber where many amber axhibits are shown.
After leaving the museum the tourists may walk as far as Birutė hill, a 21.9 meters high dune from which a wonderful views of the Baltic Sea panorama opens and then return to the bus. Afterwards - the trip to Klaipėda.
During the day trip we offer to try Lithuanian cuisine for lunch. The special dish is Cepelinai (grated potato zeppelin shape dish stuffed with meat).
The visitors are also welcomed to walk in a newly renovated Basanavicius pedestrian street which leads directly to the sea.
